EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Communication with patients
- about intimacy & sexuality in connection with illness
Patients are increasingly demanding better conversations about intimacy & sexuality. We take their demands seriously.
Why talk to patients about intimacy & sexuality?
Studies show that it is common for medical doctors to find it challenged to talk to their patients about their sexuality. The reasons are i.a. fear of transgressing patient boundaries and not having correct answers. However, studies also show, that patient demand is rising.
Lucy Vittrup collaborates with Medical Education Institutes to meet the growing needs of patients, by implementing the conversation about intimacy and sexuality as part of their specialist training.
